Once a year it seems I draw something that shatters the quality bar of everything Ive dont before that... No small improvements, but something that looks like a compleatly differnt person drew it. This is that drawing.

Right.. first off, the technical things. Drawn with pencil and paper, then CGed in adobe photoshop 7.0. Line work is far above my normal level... it took 5 hours to ink this with the Pen Tool due to the shear number of lines in it, on top of that ive started including many more detail lines.. It definitly gives it far less of a cartoony feel. Next, I found a way to finaly give a realistic glow to all of SteelClaws glowy bits. Finaly the red eye has that evil eye in the darkness look i had been shooting for the entire time ive been drawing him. The gun also looks equaly impressive with its glowing plasma coil and lazer. The trick I learned on the 2k Chan pic I colored for irish, for doing glasses, helped in doing sorrow. Background was done using a old photo I had of a foggy snow covered forest with an under painting filter. The thin white to clear gradiant at the bottom helps put the characters in that forest rather then it looking like a back drop in a photo studio. I left the picture large so it could be used as a desktop later. If there ever was one of my pics that would do great as a print this would be it. On the jpeg im posting the details are to small to see, but the linework is so detailed it has rifling in the barrel.

Okay, the other stuff...
I may have mentioned it, I may not have. Im doing a side comic while I learn the process before I take on my main project, the side comic (which has no title, saggestions are welcome) is a prequal dealing with a much younger steelclaw, before he is the world destroyign warlord known as galactic enemy #1 in the main storyline. In his travels he goes up against a cult trying to obtain an item of power... a magic Glaive. He interupts their demonic summoning ritual and ends up getting the wroung demon summoned, and bound to him! The two cant stand each other but litteraly cant get away from one another. They quest to find a way to break the binding while trying to stay one step ahead of the cult who needs the Glaive to summon their powerfull demonic lord. But at the end... when they choice is theirs and they have traveled so fart togeather, will they still feel the same way?
